Are you ready to immerse yourself in a blissful yoga & culture adventure of Mysore City?

Join us for an unforgettable 10-day Yoga Journey in the breathtaking beauty of Mysore. Immerse yourself in the world of yoga and mindfulness and experience the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. We are taking a break from the mundane and embarking on a 10-day journey to allow spaciousness to find us. Spending time away from the daily chores, work, family, and our titles, we will be slowing down, savoring the moment, and connecting with the deeper rhythms of life. During our stay in Mysore, we will have the chance to witness the biggest Festival, Desra, where you can see festive elephants on the street, a city full of lights, and many festive events. Dive In Yoga Retreat is a journey of a lifetime; with each yoga session with Vicky, you will be invited to inquire into your patterns, invite more tenderness to your daily life, refine your interoception, and bring more clarity to your well-being. Each yoga practice will include a comprehensive, thoughtful yoga sequence with meditation, followed by discussion, & journaling prompts. Welcome yourself to new ways of seeing, believing, and being.

Dive In Yoga Retreat welcomes individuals from all walks of life, regardless of their prior experience in yoga or meditation. There is no need for any prerequisites—simply bring an open mind, and a willingness to let go.

Day 1:

12.00: Arrive and  Settle into your accommodation and join an orientation session to familiarize yourself with the schedule and facilities.

16.00-18.00 Opening Circle and Practice with Vicky Tomsky

Day 2-9

Morning:

Free Time: 

In between our sessions, explore the enchanting sights and sounds of Mysore City. 

Visit the majestic Mysore Palace, stroll through vibrant markets, or take a tranquil walk around the serene Kukkarahalli Lake.

Afternoon:

A nonrefundable 500-euro deposit (to be deducted from the retreat payment) is required to save your spot.

Cancellation Policy:

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and flexibility is essential. Here is our cancellation policy to address various situations, including retreat center or teacher cancellations, as well as unforeseen events like COVID-19:

Retreat Center or Teacher Cancellation:

If the retreat center or teacher needs to cancel the retreat for any reason, participants will be notified promptly. In such cases, registered participants will be offered the choice of a full refund or the option to transfer their reservation to a future retreat of equal value.

Force Majeure - Unforeseen  Events (e.g., COVID-19):

In the case of unforeseen events beyond our control, such as a pandemic or any other force majeure event, we reserve the right to cancel, reschedule, or make necessary adjustments to the retreat. Participants will be provided with the option to receive a full refund or transfer their reservation to a rescheduled date.

Participant Cancellation:

If a participant needs to cancel their reservation, the following refund policy will apply:

A 500-euro deposit is required to save your spot and is not refundable and non-transferable.

The rest of the payment will be paid fully before arrival.

Payment Transfers:

Participants may transfer their reservation to another person at any time, provided the retreat organizers are notified in writing. The new participant must meet all requirements and complete any necessary forms or payments.

HEALTH & SAFETY

All participants are required to purchase travel insurance before attending the retreat. Injuries and/or illnesses that may put your health at risk by participating should be disclosed to us before attending. Food allergies and intolerances should be disclosed to us before attending.

How to Reach Mysore 

Mysore is one of the more well-connected cities in Karnataka and is accessible by road, rail and air. Although Mysore has its own airport, it is not fully functional and doesn't connect to all major cities. So tourists can access Mysore through the Bangalore airport (170km). Getting on a train to the Mysore railway station is a very convenient way of travel as daily trains ply here. Bus services are also regularly running and finding a seat is never a problem.

Dive In Yoga Retreat will be hosted by Chitravana Resort, 25 minutes outside of The center of Mysore. Surrounded by pristine forest, away from the bustle and noise of the city, Chitravana has a special yogic ambiance. There are 10 private cottages available and 20 rooms at the resort, all of which have recently been renovated. The resort has its swimming pool for use by our retreat guests only. Chitravana means painted forest. The resort was created from a painting using unique architecture to create a beautiful ambiance that came from the brilliant mind of Sri Murthy, the owner of the resort. Chitravana is simply stunning!   * For people sharing rooms we will give rooms with separate beds when possible. Many of the rooms have only a single king-sized bed. We do our best to match roommates in a way that lets everyone feel comfortable.

FOOD - breakfast will be catered by Sahana Murthy of Mysore Rasayana Kitchen. Sahana is a renowned Ayurvedic Chef and teacher of culinary art. Each breakfast will be a carefully planned experience with great love and care put into it. 

Q&A

How to reach Mysore by flight

The closest International Airport from Mysore is the Bangalore Airport for those who want to visit the city by air across the border. There is a domestic airport within the city itself that schedules flights to and from major cities like Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, New Delhi and Kolkata.

Important & Practical Information!

*Check-in starts at 12 noon on September 21st. The opening ceremony and first lecture begin at 4pm.

*If you would like to book extra days at Chitravana to rest from travel before the conference begins you may do so, please send us an email with your flight details and we will help you to book your extra night stay.

*Taxis from Bangalore airport can be arranged for 4500 RS each way. For this to be arranged we will need your flight details. Please send them when you request a taxi. (the driver will be waiting for you when you arrive and take you straight to Chitravana Resort or wherever you choose to stay.

On the last day, September 30th, we shall finish at 12 pm.

What should I pack?

Once your reservation has been confirmed: you’ll be sent a welcome letter providing lots of useful information about the retreat, including a helpful guide on what to pack.

I had never been to India before and I didn't know what to expect. Little did I know that I would have the best 10 days of my life! The special friends I made and the trips will last in my memory forever. The Yoga practice in the morning with Vicky was wonderful and every day I learned a little more from her wonderful yoga teaching. I am a new yoga teacher and I loved learning new asanas and modifications. I got stronger in my body as the week progressed. In the afternoon we did some work on reflection and beautiful restorative yoga poses and delicious Shavasana.

We had the best fun at breakfast which was delicious and we got together again for dinner. We had a lot of laughs and every day was different and fun.

Vicky is a very special person and a wonderful yoga teacher with a world of knowledge that she generously shares with everyone.

I am 60 years of age and I was the oldest in the group, but I felt like I was in my 30's again and living the life in beautiful Goa with wonderful people. My accommodation was great and just a stone's throw from the most beautiful beach. I swam at 7am before our session at 8am.

I would highly recommend this yoga retreat, you will feel safe, happy and nourished in every way.

Following the one and only Vicky on this retreat too, I trusted her to introduce me to Mother India! I can say ecstatically and deeply moved that I felt like I was born again! In an environment of unique natural beauty, Vicky, with an open heart that embraces all concerns and knows everything about how you feel and what you need, managed to create lifelong bonds for all of us in the group. We opened up, laughed to tears, danced, explored, felt like children again, deepened and worked with ourselves and fell back in love with yoga under Vicky's wonderful guidance who gave us new tools for our yoga practice at home. We relaxed into magical Savasana with the colors of the sunset and sunrise warming and opening our hearts! Magical things that I dreamed of for years already happened to me while I was there and they continue to happen! I feel like I want to sleep and wake up to go to the next yoga retreat there again!!! I joined Vicky’s Living Big Yoga Retreat at the NALANDA Resort Goa in January 2024 and had the most amazing time. We had a really fun group and the sessions were the perfect mix of active, dynamic poses, restorative yoga, journaling and sharing. Vicky is the best yoga teacher I have ever had - her attention to detail, enthusiasm and lightness of touch are just perfect. Her teaching covers a very broad range of physical and emotional aspects, and she is extremely knowledgeable about yoga and Ayurveda, amongst many other things. She created a very open, safe and friendly environment and I learned a huge amount which I have taken back with me and am now incorporating into everyday life. About Vijayadashami/Dasara Festival:

Vijayadashami (Sanskrit: विजयादशमी,) also known as Dasara or Dashain, is a major Hindu festival celebrated every year at the end of Durga Puja and Navaratri. It is observed on the tenth day of the month of Ashvin, the seventh in the Hindu lunisolar calendar. The festival typically falls in the Gregorian calendar months of September and October.

Vijayadashami is observed for different reasons and is celebrated differently in various parts of the Indian subcontinent. In the southern, eastern, northeastern, and some northern states of India, Vijayadashami marks the end of Durga Puja, commemorating goddess Durga's victory against the buffalo-demon Mahishasura to restore and protect dharma.  Alternatively, it marks a reverence for one of the aspects of the goddess Devi, such as Durga or Saraswati. Vijayadashami celebrations include processions to a river or oceanfront that involve carrying clay statues of Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ganesha, and Kartikeya, accompanied by music and chants, after which the images are immersed in the water for dissolution and farewell. In other places, towering effigies of Ravana, symbolising evil, are burnt with fireworks, marking evil's destruction. The festival also starts the preparations for Diwali, the important festival of lights, which is celebrated twenty days after Vijayadashami.
