Everything in Its Divine Time

I just came back from Toronto. I hadn’t been there in 20 years.

It’s the city where so many things started for me — I was still in school, full of ambition, with no clue what life had planned. It’s where I watched my mom go through lung cancer. Where I started my first little business flipping old houses. Where I accidentally found myself doing marketing and event planning before I even knew that’s what it was. It’s where I went camping for the first time. I flew to Vancouver and tried snowboarding.

And — something I’ll never forget — it’s also where I took my very first yoga class. I had no idea at the time that it would grow into something that would shape my whole life. I was just a girl on a mat, trying to breathe and stay present. But it planted a seed.

Toronto was also the place where my heart broke into a thousand pieces. And that heartbreak, as painful as it was, was the start of my healing journey. I didn’t know it then — it just felt like everything was falling apart. So I left.

Now, two decades later, I came back. Same streets. Same energy. But I’m not the same.

This time, I returned as a therapist, a mother, and a teacher. I led a workshop there, and most of the people in the room had never met me. Still, something clicked. It felt aligned. It felt like a gift, an honor, and a big calling.

It reminded me:

Everything comes in its divine time. Not when we push. Not when we try to control every outcome. But when we’re ready — even if we don’t realize it yet.

I tried so hard back then to make life work in Canada. I gave it everything. But life had other plans — and now, I understand why. That city was the beginning. A chapter that shaped me. And I had to let it go so I could grow into the woman I am now.

If you’re in a hard season, or something’s not going the way you hoped — I just want to say: Trust. Let go a little. Life is wiser than we are, and remember:

Everything in Its Divine Time
