The Slow Revolution

I catch myself checking my phone every few minutes. Since it’s on silent 99% of the time, I feel the need to check — just in case I miss the opportunity of my life. I admit, I’m addicted.

Especially now, when everything feels urgent. Notifications, emails, meetings — all demanding immediate attention. Even meditation apps urge us to hurry up and relax.

But is it really urgent? Or are we just caught in the speed of technology?

This is why I lean more deeply into my practice. It reminds me again and again: the universe keeps spinning — even when I don’t respond right away.

We live in panic mode, but what if slowing down is a radical act? In a world addicted to speed, choosing slowness isn’t laziness — it’s rebellion.

Take a breath before replying. Pause before jumping into the next task. Delay that “urgent” message.

Most urgency is an illusion. That “critical” task? It can wait. The “must-have” meeting? Probably unnecessary.

During the last year, I stopped rushing. It felt uncomfortable at first, but then I felt clearer, more grounded — and nothing bad happened. Life actually got better.

Slow isn’t unproductive. It’s intentional. It’s power.

This is why I created the Athenian Oasis Retreats. A 3-night urban retreat in the heart of Northern Athens — one of the city’s most peaceful, green, and beautiful neighborhoods — designed for women ready to step off the treadmill of urgency and reconnect with themselves — gently, intentionally, and joyfully.


The first retreat will take place in September 2025, and it’s your chance to reclaim time and space for yourself before the rush of autumn begins.
