Yesterday I went to the movies with Danny, my oldest daughter. We saw the movie ‘’Barbie’’. It was her birthday two weeks ago, so I agreed (:
At first, I hated it, I kept judging the movie in my head, feeling sorry I agreed to this in the first place. But, then, I started liking it and by the end, I even laughed and cried. Well, laughing and crying go together for me, but in this case some moments in the movie made me reflect on how we, women, are seen by society and how being human can be really uncomfortable.

‘’As women we want to be strong so we are afraid to show emotions, we want to be good mothers but also to have a career, to have our house clean, be good partners, and friends, and never disappoint anyone. We want to be fit, but not too skinny, not too fat, not too much, being healthy but not saying that I want to lose weight. We want to feel special but not to stand out too much. We want people to love us so we will sacrifice a lot to be loved and appreciated. We always want to prove we are worthy and deserve the medal of being Wonder Woman. Being human can be uncomfortable! ‘’
This is taken from the scene in Barbie. And it spoke to my heart. I do feel that we, women, are being judged and expected to be too much. Many times it can feel uncomfortable, challenging, and way too demanding.
I am happy I saw the movie. It reminded me how important it is to be more attentive to our needs, to be clear about our boundaries, and to live from a place of a soft heart with ourselves first, and then with others.
Let me know if this resonates with you. And if you went or will go to ‘’Barbie’’, please share your thoughts.
Today I am sharing with you a video called '' Stop Tucking in Uttkatasana''. It has lots of fun anatomical & kinesiological insights about how your pelvis moves in life and on your yoga mat. Enjoy.
