We were driving in the car with our three kids. It was a weekend after 2 weeks of the Christmas Holidays. Both Alon and I were exhausted and really longing for a quiet time where it is just the two of us.
The kids were being kids, loud and fighting about other nonsense like who will be sitting in the middle. Alon and I were glancing at each other with half of a smile, half despair (:
I was checking my emails and there it was: a reminder to register for ‘’Taking Refuge’’, an online course with my favorite teacher, Judith Hanson Lasater, and her daughter Lizzie Lasater.
I looked at Alon and I said:
‘’I know this course is a bit more than I planned to spend, and I know it means I will be needing to be home on Sundays evening to study. BUT!! I feel I really need this! I want to keep investing in my emotional, psychological and mental state. I want to get inspired, motivated and be reminded that I am more than a Mom.’’
I signed up immediately and I felt relieved!
As my teacher, Judith, says:
‘’You are not broken. You just need refuge.’’
This is my way of finding refuge: self-studies, traveling, and practicing on my yoga mat. Anything that feeds my soul, mind, and body.
Another way I find refuge is when I am teaching. This is where I am deeply and truly connected to the present moment I don’t have any anxiety about the future or longing for the past.
What is your refuge these days? Where and how do you find it?
Please share! And don’t forget to take care of your sweet Self!

‘’Refuge is not a location, it is an intention.
Refuge is not running away, but choosing what you want to move toward.
And refuge is available to you, right now, on your yoga mat.’’
Judith Hanson Lasater
